I starting drinking almond milk about 3 years ago in place of regular cow’s milk. Although it doesn’t have as much protein, it has a lot of health benefits and I love the creamier taste. It has 50% more calcium than regular milk, 0 grams of sugar, and there are only 35-40 calories per cup of unsweetened vanilla as opposed to 80 calories in a cup of skim milk. I switch between Silk, Almond Breeze, and Trader Joe’s brand depending on which one is on sale or I have a coupon for. It tastes amazing on cereal or by the glass. Some people don’t like the taste of almond milk, but I actually prefer it to cow’s milk. It also doesn’t spoil as quickly and even though it says to drink within 7 days of opening, I find it lasts much longer than that. It’s also great for making sauces. I mix it with laughing cow Swiss cheese, pumpkin butter, and cinnamon to top off butternut squash raviolis.

I still buy regular milk for baking purposes and my coffee because it doesn’t have the same thickness.
