THE BEST BURGER I’VE EVER EATEN! I am honestly not a huge red meat fan unless it’s really high quality or super flavorful. I almost always opt for a veggie or salmon burger to a traditional bland beef cheeseburger. Frankly, the smell and taste of soggy pre-made fast food burgers and fries makes me sick. I could happily live the rest of my life without ever entering a McDonald’s again and I have never even tried an In-and-Out burger regardless of how much Californians praise them. I don’t care what anybody says about the high quality, I tried an In-and Out fry and it was bland and soggy, and as for the burgers, they cook too many in one day for them to actually be that good. (Romain would highly disagree with this statement)
Umami burger, however, does not fall into your typical burger category. I actually don’t think I will ever be fully satisfied by another beef burger again because the classic Umami burger paired with sweet potato truffle fries was so incredibly good. Umami is actually one of our five taste receptors coming from the Japanese word meaning pleasant savory taste. The classic burger was topped with shitake mushrooms, caramelized onions, roasted tomato, a parmesan crisp and umami ketchup. Pure perfection. It is a little on the expensive side, but it’s well worth the price. The truffle burger looks amazing as well, but the classic burger was so amazing, I’m not sure I could pass it up the next time I go. I can’t wait to move to Irvine so that I will be closer to one of these restaurants!
